**BACKGROUND:** International Medical Corps is implementing project in the Philippines to deliver rapid, lifesaving assistance to communities affected by disasters, particularly typhoons. The project will enable the deployment of trained medical teams within 48 hours to provide essential health services, strengthen local health capacity, and supply critical medicines and equipment. It will also provide pre-position generators and fuel to ensure health facilities remain operational during power outages. In addition, the project will provide cash and voucher assistance to vulnerable households, allowing them to access essential non-food items through vetted local vendors, with priority given to high-risk and marginalized groups.

**JOB SUMMARY**: Responsible for providing support to finance and other team members in various finance and accounting tasks. The Finance Assistant will assist in areas such as budgeting, financial reporting, and general ledger management.

The level of work performed may vary depending on the complexity of country's program, including factors such as program size, number of projects, donors, field sites, stakeholders, and available resources.

**MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Accounting and Finance Management**

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Assist in processing invoices, expenses, and payments: ensure that all supporting documentation is present.
- Maintain books of accounts daily/regularly. Prepare and process journal entries and general ledger entries if necessary.
- Assist in the updating Cost Point in real time and closing of numbers monthly.
- Scan and upload vouchers to the IMC Share file for review and audit purposes.
- Reconcile cash accounts daily, conduct cash counts with the Finance Officer or Finance Manager, and update the daily cash position in IMC TMS.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Maintain organized and updated financial records, including filing, archiving, and retrieval of finance documents.
- Support other team members in day-to-day finance and accounting tasks as required.
- Work with other departments to ensure financial transactions and reports are completed accurately and on time
- Assist with special projects and other tasks assigned by the Country Director, Finance Manager and as per request by other PH team members.

**Working Relationships**

- Maintain frequent communication with Finance Officer or Manager to ensure finance activities and objectives are communicated.
- Work with program and logistics staff to ensure the coordination of programs are within budgeted targets.

**Representation**

- Participate in the production of reports and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of information provided, as well ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization's Code of Conduct, ethics, values, and standpoint regarding internal and external actors.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

- Typically, a 4-year University degree in Accounting or Business administration (knowledge in accounting principles). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Typically, minimum 1 year experience, work in the humanitarian sector is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Experience in working with computerized accounting systems, Costpoint), is a plus
- Experience of working within a large departmental team is a plus
- Ability to carry-out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support from within the organization.
